Amiibo sales are picking up speed. Nintendo president Tatsumi Kimishima stated in a recent press conference that more than 21 million amiibo have been shipped worldwide, up from 10.6 million units at the end of March.
The bulk of the sales – 66% – are from North America, 20% are from Europe and 11% from Japan. The Yarn Yoshi’s seems to be the most popular of all amiibo, with 400,000 units sold. And if you were in any doubt, the amiibo cards are selling like hotcakes. According to Kimishima “Nintendo can’t keep up with demand.” and promised new shipments.
